Description
The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba is one of the most important and peculiar monuments of Spain and the West. It is a huge Arab Mosque, to which different alterations were made in Christian times, specially in the 16th century, when the Temple or Christian Cathedral was built, in a plateresque style. The Mosque of Cordoba, is not only the symbol of Al-Andalus, but also a principal and significant monument in all the Islamic West, and is one of the most amazing of the world. It is an artistic reflection of the power of one of the most important political states of the West in the 9th and 10th centuries: the Caliphate of Cordoba.
